A Cakey Dream Becomes a Reality

Finding Bethany Dream Cakes in busy Quezon Ave was like me channeling Gretel (minus Hansel), in search for that gingerbread house in the middle of the forest. With a little help from some friendly strangers, I finally found the right trail (minus the white pebbles) leading to my fairy tale destination.
Bethany Dream Cakes is a quaint little showroom and mini cake factory in one. Its white, castle like exteriors already make you dream of white fluffy frosting and marshmallows. The inside smelled of chocolate and vanilla and hot-of-the-oven cakes (someone should seriously put that in a spritzer bottle).
I was greeted by owner and cake artist, Susan dela Cruz who immediately had me try their chocolate cake and their best-seller, apple walnut cake still warm from the oven. With cakes so moist and tasty plus their edgy designs, no wonder why Bethany Dream Cakes has become a household name when it comes to celebration cakes.
I could go on and on with cake flavors and designs (their bejeweled cakes are very popular by the way) but for me, the most noteworthy aspect of this thriving business is Susan’s story.
A devout Christian, Susan shares how much she’s grown from her rebellious youth. She shares, “when I became a single mom I lost all hope and thought my life was over. I surrendered everything to God, prayed for a sign on which direction to take… and he answered.” In a dream she had a vision of cakes, plus the name Bethany (which she later learned was a Biblical place where Jesus performed many of his miracles) hence the brand, Bethany Dream Cakes.
With a generous heart, fervent faith, and passion to succeed, Susan is a living miracle of how dreams really do come true.
